EXPRESS HIS GLORY.
Saturday, May 16, 2015.
Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom; teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord (Colossians 3:16).
The word "glory," amongst several other beautiful synonyms, means radiance, excellence, splendour, brightness, etc. Think for a second that all such beautiful attributes are in your life, not just for God to see, but for you to express.
It’s your heritage as a new creation in Christ Jesus to express the glory of God. 1 Peter 2:9 says, "But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvellous light." He wants you to express the perfections, beauty and excellence of divinity that are characteristic of your recreated human spirit.
The Lord Jesus expressed the glory of God every day while He walked the earth. His whole life was an extraordinary account of the miraculous and supernatural. John testified of this saying, "And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth" (John 1:14). Jesus is the brightness of God’s glory, and express image of His Person (Hebrews 1:3); and we’re like Him (1 John 4:17).
He said in John 17:22, "And the glory which thou gavest me I have given them…." You’re a sharer as well as the carrier and dispenser of His glory. Therefore, "Arise, shine; for thy light is come, and the glory of the Lord is risen upon thee" (Isaiah 60:1). Do things and speak words that inspire honour, worship and praise to the Lord.
PRAYER
Dear Father, I thank you for making me the expression of your glory to my world. The more of your Word I imbibe in my spirit through meditation, the more your glory increases in my life. Therefore, my profiting is evident to all; your anointing upon my life is increased; grace, favour, effectiveness and efficiency are increasing in my life, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.
