The pastor was hospitalized and underwent surgery but is expected to recover.
Sealy’s wife, Sharon Sealy, said that the pastor has remained faithful.
"He hasn't lost any hope. You know, this is something that was really
terrible and shouldn't have happened and we've already prayed for that
person who actually committed the crime,” she said.
“In spite of adversities, you know we look to God for strength and that’s what my family is doing right now.”
Church members learned of the shooting when they arrived at the church. The Christian Post reports Rev. Eustace McDonald of New York preached about holding onto hope at the service.
