SUBJECT YOUR THOUGHTS TO THE WORD.
Sunday, May 17, 2015.
Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things (Philippians 4:8).
Your life is based on your thoughts, and your thoughts are based on the information you have, and the information you have is based on its source.
People have problems mostly from the way they think; they just think the wrong thoughts. If you notice your thoughts aren’t in conformity with the Word of God, change them. Subject your thoughts to the Word of God! Subject your thoughts to the Holy Spirit! Don’t be drawn away in your mind. You can have excellent thoughts without negativism.
When you subject your thoughts to the Word, you have thoughts of love, glory, excellence, and progress! Let the Word of God dominate your thoughts; let it control what you retain in your mind. His Word tells us what to think and how to think. So, change your thoughts if they’re not consistent with the Word. Someone might ask, "What if I’m trying to change my thoughts and the thoughts just keep coming back?"
If you’ve received the Holy Spirit, that’s not a problem at all. That’s one of the things He can help you with; remember, He’s your helper (John 14:16 AMP). Part of His ministry in your life is to help you achieve focus; anything you want to focus your mind on is possible by the power of the Holy Spirit. He can help you change your thoughts if you ask Him.
PRAYER
Dear Father, thank you for the cleansing power of your Word, which purifies my heart from all unrighteousness. My thoughts today, are pure, just, lovely, and excellent. As your Spirit unveils the mysteries of your Word to me, my thoughts are adjusted to see things only in that perspective, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.
